RFP#02-2023 - YWCA Westman - Meredith Place Demolition

The YWCA Westman built Meredith Place in 1917 and for more than 100 years it provided transitional housing for those within the Brandon community. It has reached the end of its lifespan, and the purpose of this Request for Proposals is to solicit competitive, sealed proposals from qualified and experienced individuals or companies to provide demolition services of the building. YWCA Westman is requesting bids for the demolition of the existing structure, as indicated in Attachment 2 – Demolition Area – located at 148 11th Street in Brandon, Manitoba. The organization is working to develop a conceptual plan and secure capital funding for a new construction project on this site, which would house the crisis shelter, transitional housing units for women and their children as well as programming and administration space.

The successful contractor will provide all equipment, tools, transportation and labour necessary to perform the duties performed herein. In addition, the contractor will apply for all required permits, and will cover the cost of tipping fees. For this RFP, please refer to the City of Brandon Tipping Fees schedule, including Non Profit Tipping Fees. The organization is in the process of applying to have the Tipping Fees waived in their entirety, however for the purpose of this RFP they are to be included, on a separate line item in Attachment 1 – Bid Form.
