6255-2019/20 - Provide care & management of museum collections at St. Norbert Provincial Park

Manitoba Sustainable Development (Manitoba) owns and operates a historical site outside the City of Winnipeg that includes an artefact collection. We are seeking a qualified individual to manage and care for the collection and to provide public interpretive tours at St. Norbert Provincial Park. The park is open to the public annually for the summer season and is subject to seasonal openings and closings.
 
This Agreement will provide quality care and management of the collection which is used for interpretation and on public display at St. Norbert Provincial Park.  This includes the artefacts which are seasonally displayed in the Bohémier and Turenne Houses (two historic, fully restored French Canadian homes), and the outdoor exhibits (including but not limited to the stables, and outdoor refrigerator). Artefacts which are in storage but not on display are also included.  The Service Provider will also provide weekly scheduled guided interpretive tours of the historic houses to the public from the Victoria Day weekend through to the Labour Day weekend.
 
Services are required from May 1st through September 30th each year.  The Agreement is anticipated to commence on May 1, 2019 and shall continue until September 30, 2020.  The Agreement is for a fixed period of two (2) seasons with the possibility of a further two (2) season extension.
 
A Mandatory Site Meeting will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at St. Norbert Provincial Park, 40 Turnbull Drive, St. Norbert, Manitoba.
