NSY Maintenance Shop Drainage Improvements
Marine Atlantic Inc. (MAI) invites offers from qualified Vendors for the NSY Maintenance Shop Drainage Improvements project.
The NSY Maintenance Shop Drainage Improvements Project work is located at the Marine Atlantic Inc. (MAI) terminal site property located in North Sydney, NS. The area where the work will be undertaken is located at the Northeast end of the Maintenance Building.
.1 The Work generally consists of but is not limited to the following components:
.1 Removal of asphalt and existing concrete pads to the extents shown on the drawings.
.2 Installation of new catch basin, storm sewer, and stormceptor system.
.3 Installation of new concrete apron slabs.
.4 Reinstatement of all granular materials prior to March 31, 2019.
.5 Maintenance of gravel surfaces until May of 2019 at which time asphalt surfaces are to be reinstated under this contract.
.2 The MAI North Sydney Terminal Site is a 24/7 operation. Construction work completed under this contract must not negatively impact ongoing terminal operations. Advanced coordination of work will be required to maintain continuous operation.
.3 Contractor will be responsible for ensuring appropriate measures are in place to protect their employees in accordance with provisions contained within Federal and Provincial legislation. Such measures will ensure that appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is identified by the Contractor prior to site mobilization.
.4 Contractor will be responsible to ensure that their work activities are carried out in a manner such that if contaminated materials are encountered, there will be no risk to the public, MAI personnel or the environment.
A site visit will be held on January 8, 2019 at 10:00 AM Atlantic time at the Terminal Maintenance Shop in North Sydney, NS.
The closing for receipt of tenders will be 1400 hours Atlantic Time, January 17, 2019.
Proposals must be submitted by electronic means using the MERX EBS.
This will be the only method of response accepted for consideration. Proposals will not be considered if submitted by fax, email or other open forms of communication. Proposals must be received by the closing date and hour. Late Proposals will not be considered.
