Jib Crane Replacement

Marine Atlantic Inc. (MAI) invites offers from qualified Vendors for the Jib Crane Replacement in Port aux Basques, NL.

The project is located at the Marine Atlantic Ferry Terminal site in Port aux Basques, Newfoundland.

The Work generally includes, but it is not necessarily limited to, the supply and install of a new Jib Crane with a new concrete foundation base and associated electrical requirements.

More particularly the work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following:

Mobilization and demobilization, including all labor and equipment as specified and as required to carry out the work.

Supply and install new Jib Crane with hook height, reach and load capacity as specified in structural drawings.

Cut and removal of existing bollards and excavation of existing subgrade as required for installation of new concrete foundation.

Installation of new concrete foundation, as shown on structural drawings.

Supply and installation of all electrical requirements for new Jib Crane, as shown on drawings.

Traffic Control and coordination with the Owner and other Contractors on site as required to maintain access to the ferries and adequate space for vehicles.

Submittals:
- Preparation, submission, and implementation of an approved Construction Schedule.
- Preparation, submission, and implementation of an approved Site-Specific Safety Plan.
- Preparation, submission and implementation of an approved Traffic Control and Pedestrian Plan.
- Preparation, submission, and implementation of an approved Site-Specific Environmental Protection Plan.

Marine Atlantic reserves the right to accept tenders in whole or in part. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

A site visit will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2022 at 1:30 PM Atlantic, (2:00 PM Newfoundland) Time at the site in Port aux Basques, Newfoundland.

The closing for receipt of tenders will be 1400 hours Atlantic Time, September 1, 2022.

Proposals must be submitted by electronic means using the MERX EBS.

This will be the only method of response accepted for consideration. Proposals will not be considered if submitted by fax, email or other open forms of communication. Proposals must be received by the closing date and hour. Late Proposals will not be considered.

Marine Atlantique S.C.C. (MAI) invite les fournisseurs qualifiés à soumissionner pour le projet de remplacement de la grue à flèche à Port aux Basques, Terre‑Neuve‑et‑Labrador (T.-N.-L.).

Le projet est situé au terminal du traversier de Marine Atlantique à Port aux Basques, à Terre‑Neuve‑et‑Labrador.

Les travaux comprennent généralement, sans nécessairement s’y limiter, la fourniture et l’installation d’une nouvelle grue à flèche avec une nouvelle base de fondation de béton et les exigences électriques connexes.

Plus précisément, les travaux comprennent principalement ce qui suit, sans toutefois nécessairement s’y limiter :

Effectuer la mobilisation et la démobilisation, y compris tous les travailleurs et tout l’équipement selon les spécifications et les besoins, pour effectuer les travaux.

Fournir et installer une nouvelle grue à flèche avec une hauteur, une portée et une capacité de charge conformes à ce qui est précisé dans les plans structuraux.

Couper et enlever les bollards existants et excaver les sols de fondation existants au besoin pour l’installation de nouvelles fondations en béton.

Installation de nouvelles fondations en béton, comme le montrent les plans structuraux.

Fourniture et installation de toutes les exigences électriques pour la nouvelle grue à flèche, comme le montrent les plans.

Le contrôle et la coordination de la circulation avec le propriétaire et les autres entrepreneurs sur place, au besoin, afin de maintenir l’accès aux traversiers et un espace adéquat pour les véhicules.

Documents à soumettre :
- Préparer, présenter et mettre en œuvre un calendrier de construction approuvé.
- Préparer, présenter et mettre en œuvre un plan de sécurité propre au site approuvé.
- Préparer, présenter et mettre en œuvre un plan de contrôle de la circulation et de piétons approuvé.
- Préparer, présenter et mettre en œuvre un plan de protection de l’environnement propre au site approuvé.

Marine Atlantique se réserve le droit d’accepter des soumissions dans leur totalité ou en partie. La soumission au plus faible coût ou n’importe quelle soumission ne sera pas nécessairement acceptée.

Une visite du site aura lieu le jeudi 22 août 2022 à 13 h 30, heure de l’Atlantique (14 h, heure de Terre-Neuve) sur le site de Port aux Basques, à Terre‑Neuve‑et‑Labrador.

La date de clôture pour la réception des soumissions est le 1 septembre 2022 à 14 h, heure de l’Atlantique.

Les soumissions doivent être déposées par voie électronique à l’aide de MERX EBS.

Seules les réponses soumises de cette manière seront prises en compte. Les propositions ne seront pas prises en compte si elles sont envoyées par télécopieur, par courriel ou par d’autres moyens de communication ouverts. Les propositions doivent être reçues avant la date et l’heure de clôture. Les propositions tardives ne seront pas prises en compte.

.1 A complete tender is comprised of the following:
a) Section 00 41 13 – Tender Form and Section 00 42 00 –
Supplementary Tender Information in its entirety, with all
pages and spaces for entry of information by Tenderers filled
in as instructed.
b) Acknowledgement of Addenda received by the Tenderer during the
Tendering period.
C) An initial deposit (refer to Clause 6 herein).
d) A copy of Tenderer's current and valid Certificate of
Recognition (COR) Program, Letter of Good Standing, issued by
Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Association.
e) A copy of valid Clearance Letter, issued by Workplace Health,
Safety and Compensation Commission of Newfoundland and
Labrador.
