Description

Background Information
Lanark Lodge, located in Perth, Ontario is owned and operated by the County of Lanark (County). It presently provides accommodation for 163 long-term care residents in a building that was designed and constructed to standards of care acceptable in the early 1990’s. The Ministry of Health Long Term Care Division has evaluated the building and classified it as a “B Level Facility”. Facilities classified as such must be rebuilt/redeveloped consistent with the Enhanced Long-Term Care Home Renewal Strategy (Enhanced Strategy) current design standards by 2025.

The Long-Term Care Home Design Manual, 2015, outlines the ministry’s current design standards for Long Term Care homes being developed or redeveloped in Ontario.

Scope of Work

The following tasks are required:

Perform a facility review of Lanark Lodge to determine if the existing facility can be renovated so that it meets the Enhanced Strategy design standards. Provide estimated costs and sample floor plans for renovations required to change Lanark Lodge’s status with the Ministry from a “B Level Facility” to one that meets the Enhanced Strategy current design standards required by 2025.
Provide a presentation to Lanark County’s Community Services Committee which summarizes the Lanark Lodge facility review and provides recommendations for the course of action that should be followed to ensure the County is in compliance with the Enhanced Strategy design standards by 2025.
