Energy efficiency is one of Ontario’s most cost-effective resources and is a key component in helping to meet provincial energy demands. Since 2011, Save on Energy* has built a strong reputation as the primary source Ontarians turn to for energy efficiency advice and information. Save on Energy aims to increase residential and business consumer understanding about the benefits of energy efficiency through programs, training and incentives, as well as tips, tools, case studies, questionnaires, product advice and purchasing guides (among other products), to improve the energy efficiency and comfort of their homes and businesses, manage their electricity use, and reduce energy costs. It plays an important role in the achievement of conservation and demand management (CDM) targets; helps to prepare the market for future energy-efficiency initiatives; and can support the transformation of the energy sector currently underway.
Through this RFP, the IESO is requesting Proposals from qualified Proponents who can provide marketing support services for Save on Energy (and the IESO more broadly if and when required), as further described in Appendix C of the RFP. The Service Provider(s) will primarily support the 2021-2024 CDM Framework, providing: a) marketing, communication and content services; and b) media planning/buying services, for programs such as the Energy Affordability Program, Industrial Energy Efficiency Program, Retrofit Program, First Nations Community Building Retrofit Program, Energy Performance Program, Small Business Program, and others. Additionally, the Service Provider(s) will support consumer education and awareness via the creation and promotion of resources that encourage the adoption of energy efficient practices in their homes and businesses
