RFP-206 - Cost Review of a Renewable Project

The Independent Electricity System Operator (the “IESO”), as successor to the Ontario Power Authority, and White Pines Wind Farm Incorporated (“wpd”), entered into a 20-year Feed-in Tariff (FIT) Contract on May 4th, 2010, for wpd to develop and operate an on-shore wind farm in Ontario (the “Project”).

On July 25, 2018, the Government of Ontario passed the White Pines Wind Project Termination Act, 2018 (together with any regulations made thereunder, as amended from time to time, the “Act”), which, amongst other things, terminated the FIT contract in respect of the Project and prescribed compensation to be paid by the Government to wpd. The Government has requested the IESO’s assistance in determining the amount of compensation payable to wpd pursuant to the Act (“Compensation”).

This RFS is an invitation to prospective Service Providers to submit Proposals identifying their qualification to support the IESO in its responsibilities under this matter.
