The IESO is seeking a qualified Service Provider to provide AODA Document / Digital Content Compliance Services for the IESO.
The IESO is seeking a qualified Service Provider to provide Document / Digital Content Compliance Services and training and support to help enable the IESO to meet its accessibility requirements. Like all medium to large businesses and organizations across Ontario, the IESO is required to adhere to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (“AODA”). Pursuant to the AODA, all information and web content published on the IESO’s External Website(s) must be published in an accessible format. The IESO is also required to provide written information and other forms of communication in an accessible format to the public and employees upon request.
As of January 2021, the IESO’s External Website(s) and web content are required to meet the accessibility requirements outlined in the legislation. The IESO completed the first phase of their website to ensure all content and documents on the website are AODA compliant.
The second phase of this project is to ensure the IESO has adequate process and controls in place to ensure that all documents and other digital content is accessible and adheres to the AODA prior to it being published.
The IESO requires external support from a Service Provider who has expertise in AODA legislation, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (“WCAG”) standard and best practices for digital accessibility. The support required includes availability of professional services for troubleshooting document / digital content accessibility issues, remediating legacy documents / digital content, developing and/or providing training material, and providing training to IESO employees performing remediation of documents or other digital content to make it accessible as well as guidance and strategies for building compliance in to the process by design.
