Description

The Health Benefit Trust of Alberta is conducting an Expression of Interest for qualified vendors with capabilities to adjudicate and/or insure Life and Disability benefits offered to their members. The services are to be effective January 1, 2026.

Phases of the Selection Process
The process has been divided into two phases, as follows:

Phase 1 – Request for Expression of Interest (“RFEI”): This step is aimed at reviewing and considering interested Proponents with claims adjudication and insurance solutions available in the group insurance market. Proponents will be assessed on a pass/fail basis in this step to determine whether they are included in the next step of the process.

Phase 2 – Request for Proposal (“RFP”): Only those Proponents who received a passing score during the RFEI process will participate in the RFP process. Proponents will be notified in advance as to whether they will be included in the RFP. The RFP is expected to be released in mid-July of 2024.
