The scope of work includes the complete demolition of the building at 19 Talbot Street West in Cayuga previously known as the Cayuga Hotel. The work includes but is not limited to the following:
Demolition
Cap the water and sanitary lines at the property line on Seneca St./Cayuga St., per Haldimand County Standards.
Complete demolition and removal of the three-storey brick/stone restaurant/hotel building, including foundation, walls, roof assembly, floors, wiring, piping, windows and all building contents and any other materials and debris found on the property, etc.
Complete demolition and removal of shed and all shed contents and any other materials and debris found.
Backfill Requirements
A Soils Consultant must be obtained and will be paid for out of the Geotechnical Inspection & Testing – Cash Allowance. The Soils Consultant to confirm the excavation of all fill material and to conduct required compaction testing. Also required:
(a) Sieve Analysis: Proposed fill materials will be tested to confirm suitability for intended use and conformity with specifications.
(b) Density Tests: Tests will be conducted in place on compacted fill to ASTM D698 for Standard Proctor Maximum Dry Density.
(c) If, during progress of work, tests indicate fills installed under this contract do not meet specified requirements, remove defective fills, replace and retest at Contractor’s expense.
