PW -ES 17-051 - Cheapside Road Bridge Rehabilitation and Walpole Drive Culvert Repair

The extent of work included within these documents is located at the

Cheapside Road Bridge (Structure 010014), and the Walpole Drive

Culvert (Structure No. 010108).

Structure 010014 is located approximately 800m North of Highway 3

(Talbot Road) on Cheapside Road in Walpole Township, Haldimand

County. Structure 010108 is located in Jarvis, approximately 30m North

of Talbot Street East on Walpole Drive in Walpole Township, Haldimand

County.

In general, the rehabilitation of structure 001014 includes:

Full depth removal and replacement of asphalt wearing surface and waterproofing;

Scarification and replacement of the existing bridge deck with a new concrete deck overlay, concrete patchwork, waterproofing,and paving;

Localized partial depth concrete removal and replacement of deteriorated bridge fascia, soffit, abutment walls, and wingwalls;

Associated roadwork and new guide railing.
In general, the rehabilitation of structure 010108 includes:

Complete removal of existing guiderail and pedestrian handrail;

Full depth concrete removal and replacement of existing concrete curbs;

Installation of new pedestrian barrier railing;

Localized partial depth concrete removal and replacement of deteriorated culvert ends, wingwall,
and footings;

Installation of additional gabion baskets on existing retaining wall;

Associated grading of swales, ditches and installation of topsoil and sod.
