EllisDon Corporation, acting as the Construction Manager on behalf of BGIS, is inviting Bidders to submit their Statement of Qualifications to pre-qualify to bid on the Building 1, 4 and Chiller Demolition. The project is located at 60 Moodie Drive, Ottawa, ON.
This pre-qualification process is the first phase of a two-phase procurement process; the second phase is the tendering process. During the Tendering Phase, the pre-qualified bidders will be invited to prepare and to submit stipulated price tenders for this work. The successful bidder will be required to enter into a contract with the Construction Manager based on a modified EllisDon Stipulated Price Subcontract.
This Request for Qualifications document sets out the requirements for the submission of the Bidder’s Statement of Qualifications and specifies the evaluation criteria and Bidder selection process for this phase.
The scope of the project includes but is not limited to the architectural demo and abatement of Buildings 1, 4 and Chiller.
Building 1 was constructed between the years of 1959 and 1961 with a GFA of 7,232m2. The structure consists of a basement, two levels and a mechanical penthouse. Decommissioned in 2004/2005 minor ceilings, wall and flooring removal has taken place.
Building 4 was constructed in 1989 as a manufacturing facility for electronics. It consists of 6,878m2 spread over a basement, mezzanine and upper level. Building 4 has been decommissioned for approximately 12 years.
The chiller building, located between buildings 1 and 4 has a GFA of 4,333m2. Constructed over the course of 7 years from 1984 to 1991, it provides heating and cooling for multiple buildings located nearby on Carling Campus.
During the course of construction of this project, there will be several other projects on-going. Work of this project must be coordinated accordingly between these concurrent projects, while maintaining the required separation of time and space so that the responsibilities associated with “Constructor” remain with the Construction Manager.
