EHRC is working with employers, government, industry associations and post-secondary institutions to ensure current and future workers have the skills needed to succeed in the electricity sector’s workplace.
One of the ways to achieve this is through Wage Subsidy programs that support employers in hiring and training young workers and workers from traditionally underrepresented groups. The current Wage Subsidy programs are managed manually by the Program Managers, who spend a great deal of time emailing with Employers and Participants and compiling complex internal and external reporting. With the current processes, there is currently a high risk for human error, as well as additional work needed to manager users and data. This is a concern, especially as the programs continue to expand and new programs are developed.
The overall goal of this project is to build a bilingual platform to manage current and new Wage Subsidy programs. Such a platform will provide Employers, Participants, and Program Administrators with an increased ease of use, and will enable an overall more effective way to deliver subsidy programming. A successful platform will also result in shorter timelines for the completion of program applications and payments, and increased satisfaction surveys and ratings from users. Secondary goals include increased engagement with the platform from Employers and Participants, and differentiation of EHRC’s program through unique branding.
