Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC) has consulted with various stakeholders from Canada’s Electricity Sector and beyond to understand the prevalence and nature of sexual harassment, identify priorities and understand the nature of impact, and determine resource topic areas. Following the consultations, a proposed draft outline has been developed for training and learning resources, safe space mentoring tool, support strategy and policy and procedure framework. As a next step, EHRC is seeking the services of a qualified research consultant to review findings–including the proposed draft outline, gathered from the focus group sessions and create an educational outreach program with complementary tools and resources, including:
1. Comprehensive training and learning resources (training, interactive learning materials)
a. To inform employers about sexual harassment, including strategies to address and prevent it. It will remind employers and employees of laws, responsibilities, and rights to actively to prevent sexual harassment and respond to complaints appropriately.
2. Guiding the development of a safe space mentoring tool (resources, success stories, tips to create a safe and inclusive mentoring space)
a. To support relationships based on professional trust and confidentiality. The tool will aid mentees and mentors to have open and honest discussions with an effective structure for dialogue.

3. Support Strategy and procedure framework (Leverage expertise of legal professionals, law enforcement, advocates, legal aid services)
a. A strategic framework to support individuals get access to trauma-informed, specialized and consistent legal advice and services that are available in their provinces or nationally and improve on sexual harassment policies and procedures.
