This Request for Information (“RFI”) is issued by Elections Ontario (EO), for the purposes of gathering information about the marketplace to assist in the determination of future purchasing options or requirements. Proponents are asked to respond to EO and provide the information requested within the bid package.
Elections Ontario (EO) uses an online web-portal called eRegistration (eReg) to allow people to check their status on the Voter’s List for Provincial Elections in Ontario. eReg enables users to add, remove, update, or confirm their information (including their name, address, and date of birth), in the Voter’s List, (officially the “Permanent Register of Electors of Ontario” (PREO)). During eReg’s heaviest use in the Ontario General Election in 2018, over 108,000 additions and updates were performed in a 24-day period. This is expected to increase in subsequent general elections.
The purpose of issuing this RFI is to:
- Identify vendors capable of providing a software solution that is able to automate the verification of identification documents (see bid package Appendix C for a list of acceptable IDs);
- Understand what is involved in integrating a vendor’s software solution with Election Ontario’s own online eReg portal and back end systems; and
Obtain high-level cost estimates for budgeting purposes and timelines/effort estimates for scheduling purposes.
The information required to provide a response may be obtained from MERX.
