The Edmonton EXPO Centre is a 522,000 square foot Exposition Centre that hosts the biggest and best in trade and consumer shows, conferences and special events. The demand for parking at the venue is dependent on the event activity and is prone to congestion during peak ingress times for large events.
The parking available at the Edmonton EXPO Centre is broken out into five lots, the Plaza lot consisting of 491 stalls, the North lot consisting of 564 stalls, the East lot consisting of 1231 stalls, the South lot consisting of 394 stalls and the west lot consisting of 619 stalls (map attached). Customers enter through a manned gate where cashiers accept debit, credit or cash. A ‘flat rate’ is paid on entry only. During events, customers will enter through an automated gate arm controlled by the cashier. Exits are open for free flow exit and are controlled by parking attendants to ensure entry is not permitted. On non-event days/times gate arms are raised to allow free entry and exit.
Edmonton Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) through its operating division Edmonton EXPO Centre (EEC) hereby invites proposals from service providers for the supply and installation of an automated Parking Entry System that would meet the requirements of the Edmonton EXPO Centre outlined within this RFP.
