Pumps and Water Systems for Upper Canada Village Mills.  There are existing concerns over the capacity of the existing system. When all three mills are running, water cannot be replenished into the mill pond at a fast-enough rate to provide the pond head pressure required to operate the mills, thus rendering the mills inoperable. The primary pumping mechanism (Screw Pump) which was installed around 1980 is at the end of its useful life. Repairs to the screw pump are difficult and costly due to access to its auger, which is within a small, confined space and is located under water.
