Description

The City of Ottawa is looking for a vendor to provide all labour, equipment and materials for the hourly rental of snow blowers mounted on wheel loaders with operators at three (3) snow disposal facilities (SDF).

The City of Ottawa operates several large-scale SDFs strategically located throughout the City. Each of these sites receives snow that has been cleared from the road network and is hauled to the sites in trucks. These sites receive snow on a 24-hour basis with the peak operating activity occurring during the overnight hours. Individual sites can receive in the order of 250 trucks (tandem) per hour.

Operation of the high-capacity snow blowers is integral to maintain the flow of trucks into and out of the sites. The snow blowers are used to move the snow as it is dumped from the trucks onto the snow pile and ensure that the site capacity is maximized.

The snow blowers will be operating at one of the three (3) SDF locations described below:

CLYDE SDF (Clyde Avenue @ Woodward Avenue), CONROY SDF (Conroy Road @ Thurston Drive) and MICHAEL SDF (1425 Michael Street)
