2022-RFP-037 - UNNAMED LAKE – WEIR DESIGN

The City of Iqaluit is contemplating using UnNamed Lake as a supplementary permanent water supply source for the City’s municipal water needs. In previous studies and assessments of UnNamed Lake, limited outflow data has been available for feasibility assessments. In lieu of objective and verifiable data, approximations were used to complete water balance modelling and to assess viability of using UnNamed Lake as a the permanent water supply source.
To provide more accurate, long-term data on the outflows from UnNamed Lake, the City of Iqaluit is seeking to install a weir at a suitable outflow location. This weir will facilitate accurate outflow measurements from UnNamed and will be used to validate the use UnNamed Lake as a permanent water supply source. Accurate outflows existing UnNamed Lake will be measured from the preferred weir location.
