The City is seeking to retain a Consultant to provide engineering and detailed design services for the Drainage and Road Improvements Project. The Consultant’s team will be retained to provide technical and professional services for drainage improvements and road surfacing designs and specifications, as well as standard details and specifications for road improvements for the Project. The City invites individual firms or consortiums of firms to submit Proposals for the above-referenced Project in accordance with the terms and conditions of this Request for Proposal document.
Project Scope The purpose of this project is to prepare a detailed engineering design for the resurfacing of five lengths of road in Iqaluit. Additionally, the consultant will be required to prepare standard details and specifications for road cut paving repair. Finally, the consultant will also be required to prepare a detailed design and specifications for drainage improvements that have been identified as part of a master drainage plan developed in 2019 as well as relatively small section of road pavement removal. The standard details and specifications for the road cut paving repair will be required by early August so that they may be tendered and implemented in the 2021 construction season. Additionally, the detailed design for the drainage work and pavement removal is also required by early August so that they may be tendered and implemented in the 2021 construction season. The detailed design for the road surface treatment will be required by the end of 2021. The road surfacing work will likely be tendered in 2022, pending Council approval.
