The City of Iqaluit Department of Public Works and Engineering (the City) is issuing a Request for Tender (RFT) for qualified Bidders to provide construction services as further outlined in this RFT document.
The City of Iqaluit currently houses City Hall on the second floor of the Arnaitok Complex located at 901 Nunavut Drive (Building 901). This two-story braced steel frame building was built in the mid-1970’s and is connected to the Arnaitok Arena on the north-west side.
The total available office space on the second floor of this building is approximately 600 m2 and consists of a mixture of open and enclosed offices, as well as the City’s Council Chambers. These spaces have not been renovated in many years and need significant cosmetic updates. In 2018-19 a lighting retrofit was completed throughout the facility, including the office space.
As part of the project, the second floor of the Arnaitok Complex will be renovated and repurposed to house the municipal enforcement, public works, planning, engineering, and some fire department staff. The City requires creation of a front-of-house style service centre, a large existing area to be renovated into enclosed offices, and cosmetic upgrades throughout the floor plan.
