18-0032-01 - Phase 1 - Runway End Safety Areas & Terrain Improvements

Qualified Contractors are hereby invited to submit a tender to undertake the Runway End Safety Area (RESA) and Terrain Improvements at the SAINT JOHN AIRPORT. Tenders, on supplied forms, will be received at the Saint John Airport Inc. (4180 Loch Lomond Road, Saint John, NB, E2N 1L7, Canada) until 2:00 p.m. local time on Thursday October 11, 2018.
The work generally involves approximately 37,000 sq. metres of stripping, excavation, re-placement and compaction of existing soils, placement of some imported granular base off both ends of Runway 14-32 and re-instatement with salvaged topsoil and hydraulic seed.  380 metres of the existing Service Road will need to be Re-aligned.  Clearing and grubbing (16,000 sq. metres) and rock removal (7,000 cubic metres) and re-contouring of existing ground under the approach to Runway 23 will involve heavy construction equipment and potential rock blasting.

A Bid Bond, Certified Cheque, or Irrevocable Letter of Credit in the amount of 10% of the tender amount and an Agreement to Bond must accompany each Tender.  The successful Tenderer will be required to provide a 50% Performance Bond and a 50% Labour and Material Payment Bond upon execution of the Contract.
