TIAPEI is seeking proposals from experienced, qualified, full-service market research firms to conduct this online research in the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions of the United States. Qualified companies will have proven expertise in research design methodologies, online survey development and design, online surveying, data collection, data management and data tabulation to design, deliver and implement an online survey.
The qualified company must demonstrate a strong knowledge of the tourism industry in Atlantic Canada and have significant experience working with government or industry on tourism-related research.
The intent of the research is to gain additional information on the four Atlantic Provinces’ targeted travellers in terms of:
- incidence of out-of-state travel and future travel intentions;
- destinations recently visited and under consideration for their upcoming vacation;
- sources of travel information;
- how Mid Atlantic and New England U.S. travellers purchase travel and their use of travel agents;
- what inspires this market to travel;
- experiences and activities that motivate travel;
- most likely time to take a vacation;
- unaided and aided recall of advertising for the individual provinces comprising Atlantic Canada – Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island;
- awareness of, interest in and the likelihood of visiting each of the four Atlantic Provinces;
- destination appeal and imagery that will inspire travel to the four Atlantic Provinces;
- usage of and state of mind when using travel agents; and
- perceived obstacles, deterrents or reasons against visiting each of the four Atlantic Provinces.
Electronic submission in both Microsoft Word and PDF format are preferred and should be limited to 20 pages. Proposals should be submitted to the undersigned no later than 9:00 a.m. (Atlantic Time) on May 24, 2023. The contract for this assignment will be awarded on or about May 31, 2023.
