This Request for Proposal (RFP) has been issued by Agricorp in order to identify and select the most suitable proponent to provide legal support, advice, and recommendations for Agricorp’s routine human resource, employment and labour law matters. Agricorp may also seek legal advice on pension law relative to Agricorp’s pension plan.
All responses to this RFP must propose a complete solution. All proponents, including incumbents, must treat this opportunity as net new business.
The proponent is to provide legal advice for routine human resource, employment, labour, and pension law matters including but not limited to:
- Legal advice and support to Human Resources on various employment and labour law matters that may arise on a day-to-day basis
- Advice on legal matters related to the administration of Agricorp’s pension plan and obligations under applicable pension legislation
- Legal advice or subject matter expertise to senior management or Agricorp’s Board of Directorson legislative matters relating to employees
- Meetings or presentations on the matters relating to employment law
The proponent may be requested to represent Agricorp in matters before tribunals, labour boards, or the courts, if the Ministry of the Attorney General – Crown Law Office – Civil (MAG-CLOC) has not been retained by Agricorp.
Agricorp typically retains counsel from the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General (MAG) to represent it in litigation or regulatory matters. If MAG counsel are unable to represent Agricorp in a particular matter, proponent may be requested to perform such services.
